Terms and conditions

Please read the terms and conditions of booking below carefully. Every booking, after its confirmation, has the value of a contract according to the Italian law in force.
The request for availability is not binding and does not act as a contract neither for the client nor for the Hotel Donatello. Following the request, a (non-binding) offer will be sent to you and, in case of your acceptance, the booking will be considered finalized only after our written confirmation. In the event that a deposit is requested, the Customer has the duty to send it within the indicated deadlines so that the option is removed and the booking is definitely confirmed. The reservation becomes binding for Hotel Donatello only upon receipt of the deposit or credit card details on which to make the authorized withdrawal.
Upon arrival it is necessary to present an identification document for each person.
To make changes to the reservation it is necessary to contact the reception staff who will do their best to satisfy your requests. However, it is not possible for us to guarantee the fulfillment of these requests in advance and in the event that the booking is moved during a High Season period, or when the price is higher than the amount paid, the Customer is required to pay the difference.
The extension of the stay requires an additional booking and is subject to availability and possible tariff changes.

In the event that payment of a deposit is required (excluding tourist tax and optional services) and payment is not received within the terms established, the booking is considered void. The amount of the confirmatory deposit is 30% of the total amount of the stay and as required by the Civil Code in art. 1385 will not be returned in the event of cancellation or non-presentation.
Accepted payment methods for the confirmatory deposit: bank transfer and credit card.
The balance of the reservation, the tourist tax and any extras must be paid at the property before departure.
In the case of payments by credit cards, the Hotel Donatello reserves the right to check the validity of the same before the arrival of the Customer requesting a preauthorization to the belonging circuit. This operation guarantees the temporary availability of the total amount of the stay, or a part thereof, to ensure the validity of the credit card. With the preauthorization no amount is collected. The pre-authorization expires automatically after 20 days from the date of the request and the amount is released. In the event of a pre-authorization with a negative result, the Customer will be notified and the reservation will be canceled. In this case the hotel will have no obligation towards the customer.

City tax

The tourist tax is paid by the guests of the accommodation facilities located in the Municipality of Alberobello and required to register attendance through the SPOT system (Puglia Tourism Observatory System). The amount of the tourist tax is € 0.80 per day per person for a maximum of 3 consecutive nights. They are exempt from paying the tax: minors within the 13th year of age, bus drivers and tour leaders, disabled dependents, employees of companies that work on the territory and school groups of every order and grade and their carers on an educational trip.

The tourist tax is not included in the room rate and must be paid directly on site.

Cancellation Policy

  • Individual Reservations

Any cancellation of reservation must be communicated in writing (via e-mail). Cancellation policies other than those listed here may be agreed: in these cases, please refer to your booking confirmation.

Cancellation penalties applicable to the confirmatory down payment:

- cancellation with at least 15 days notice: no penalty; the hotel will reimburse the amount paid, withholding 10 euros as a preliminary investigation fee - the refund is not applicable in the case of a non-refundable room
- for cancellations made between the 14th and 4th day before arrival, the deposit paid will be retained and made available within 12 months for a new booking;
- if the cancellation occurs from the 3rd day onwards before the arrival date or in case of no-show or early departure, 100% of the amount paid will be retained;
- in the case of a "non-refundable" rate, the amount of the entire stay paid will be withheld in any case.
No reimbursement is foreseen for the Guest who decides to interrupt the stay already undertaken and which will in any case be required to pay the entire booked stay.

  • Group booking

Any cancellations must be received in writing (via e-mail).
Canceled reservations will be subject to penalties as shown below:

- no penalty will be applied up to 30 days before the arrival date;
- from 29 days to 15 days before the arrival date a penalty equal to 50% of the entire booked stay will be charged;
- from 14 to 1 day before the arrival date a penalty equal to 100% of the entire booked stay will be charged
